Google Adsense will drop its Barebones Ad Units Onward Next Year

Google AdSense is one of the best ways to monetize a website but this platform has one of the ad formats to say goodbye. Google will drop its connect unit advertising from next year. From next year.

Publishers who are unfamiliar with AdSense have two types of ad blocks to choose from. You’ll see most of the web ads, but AdSense publishers have an alternative that is a bit lighter than “link” blocks. Nevertheless, those commercials were never as new or profitable for advertisers, so Google decided to cut them on 14 March 2021.

We’ve decided to retire link ads. This is to modernize our available ad formats, based on the feedback from users, publishers, and advertisers. Going forward, we’ll be focussing on improving and developing other ad formats to help you grow.

After the March cut-off, Google says the latest connection ad units can no longer be generated by users and the ads can be shown on the other side. The unit’s name will also be applied to the “[formerly link ad unit]” account of AdSense.

Google ceases serving all those links in March as regards fixed-size units, either collapsing the ad or invisible on pages using it. Google suggests that users requesting fixed-size advertising turn to auto ads, display advertisements, native ads, or corresponding content before the cut-off.
