WhatsApp Messages Disappearing Feature: WhatsApp adds messages that have been dropped in its Android, iOS, Mobile, Desktop and KaiOS app. This is what it means and how the new function is triggered.

WhatsApp presents the messages that have vanished in the programme, which was rumoured to be running. The messages that disappear are not fresh. Such a choice is available already in apps like Telegram, Signal, Wire and Snapchat. If messages are gone, a user may set a certain message time limit and then immediately disappears from the conversation.

How to use WhatsApp disappearing messages feature?

“Our aim is to make WhatsApp interactions sound as similar as possible to anyone in a blog post,” said WhatsApp, “and that means that they do not stay forever. That is why we are happy to offer the alternative of using messages that are disappearing in WhatsApp. “The function is also extended to group and person chats.

WhatsApp sets a maximum of seven days after messages to a chat are lost. It does not provide a custom users option, where messages in other applications such as Telegram, Signal and Wire which disappear after a few seconds, hours or days.

Although you have the ability to turn on or off the missed messages in a single-to-one conversation, this power is exercised by group managers. Every month this function will roll out the user to the Android, iOS, KaiOS, Mobile and Desktop versions of the application. It could take some time to see it in your app settings.

Regarding the reasoning for the seven-day blog post, “We start with seven days because we think it provides little rest, but it’s also realistic so that you don’t forget what you talked about. A few days ago you got the shopping list or the shop address you wanted, but then it will vanish.

Please note how messages on WhatsApp are deleted

When you allow this feature, messages will vanish if a user doesn’t open WhatsApp within seven days. But WhatsApp says that before WhatsApp is open, a preview of the message will still be shown.

The original message is quoted when you answer a message. The quoted text can remain in chat after seven days if you respond to a missing message.

If a message is sent to a chat, in which messages have vanished, the message will not vanish in the sent chat.

If a user makes a backup, the missing message will be included in the backup until a message goes away. Messages that are lost when a backup user is restored will be removed.

Again, note that the other person can transfer the missing message or take a screenshot and save it. If messages are disappearing, the chat media will vanish, but if auto-download is on, it will be saved on the phone.
