    A step-by-step guide to change or reset UPI PIN on WhatsApp

    A step-by-step guide to change or reset UPI PIN on WhatsApp

    WhatsApp Pay is a UPI payment feature easy to use inside the messenger. It enables users, during chatting, to send and receive money. It uses UPI, the infrastructure to send and receive currency, which is set up by a consortium of the major banks of the world.

    Five leading banks including ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, State Bank of India, and Jio Paiements Bank have been partnered in WhatsApp in order to allow UPI payments in India. You first need a bank account and a debit card to transfer or receive money from WhatsApp Pay.

    How to simply change WhatsApp’s UPI PIN?

    • Open Whatsapp on your smartphone.
    • Tap More options and tap Payments.
    • Now pick the bank account for which the UPI PIN number needs to be updated.
    • Tap UPI Shift PIN.
    • Enter the existing UPI PIN and then enter a new UPI PIN.
    • Confirm the new PIN of the UPI. You’re done now. Your old UPI PIN number has been changed successfully.

    How to reset UPI PIN on WhatsApp:

    • Launch WhatsApp on your smartphone.
    • Now tap on More Options that appears as three dots and tap on Payments.
    • You will then need to choose the bank account of which you have forgotten your UPI PIN number.
    • Then next, tap on Forgot UPI PIN.
    • Then tap on CONTINUE. Enter the last 6-digits of your debit card number and the expiration date.

    Note: Some banks might require you to enter the CVV number of your card

    How to send money on WhatsApp:

    • Launch the WhatsApp app on your phone.
    • Choose the contact you want to send money to.
    • In the chat window, tap on the clip icon.
    • Now choose the rupee icon.
    • Enter the amount you want to send along with a note if need be.
    • Then enter your UPI Pin to process the transaction.
    • Wait till you get a confirmation message on your chat window.

    With around 1 million subscribers, the Facebook-owned messenger app started in 2018 to test the feature. However, only after two years of authorization provision was granted from the Indian National Payments Company approval (NPCI). A day after NPCI had said that WhatsApp had been given a nod to introduce a UPI-based payment system in India.
