Railway to start Local in Mumbai soon
There may soon be some good news for tens of thousands of people from Mumbai and suburban areas who wait for permission to travel by local train.
In response to a question, Cabinet Minister Vijay Wadettiwar said it would be the government’s decision in the next couple of days to launch local train services.
“With different stakeholders, we have had talks. Mumbaikar is about to get relief.”

The Government has indicated that anyone with a valid ticket or pass should be allowed to travel between the first local in the morning and 7:30 am and between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and between 8 p.m. and the last local train.
Those with the valid QR code or ID card in critical services together with a valid ticket or pass can travel from 08:30 am until 10:30 am and from 5 pm until 7:30 pm.
The government also proposed that a special ladies’ train should be available every hour.
