The evaluations of Covaxin have also demonstrated positive safety and immunogenicity results in 1,000 participants in Phase I and II clinical trials.

In the course of the Phase III analysis, participants are selected 1:1 randomly to receive two 6 mcg (microgram) Covaxin injections, or two shots of placebo at an interval of about 28 days.
The inquiry process, the members of the organization, being a double-blind trial, will neither know who the party is assigned to, says the company.

Bharat Biotech, in cooperation with the ICMR National Institute of Virology, produces Covaxin, a highly purified and inactivated vaccine for viruses.

The company said the vaccine is developed on a Vero cell development platform at the BSL-3 Bio-Safety Level 3 facility at Bharat Biotech.
