PAN-Aadhaar link: How to link your PAN Card online with Aadhar

Online link to PAN Card-Aaadhaar Card: The last date to link your PAN and Aadhaar is 31 March 2021. This is how you can do it online step by step.

The deadline for linking Permanent Account Number (PAN) to Aadhaar is a few days from now and, if anyone does not, their PAN will become invalid by Wednesday, 31 March, 2021. Not only will they be responsible for a penalty of up to Rs 1000.

Last week in the Lok Sabha, the government passed Finance Bill 2021 and added a new section 234H, whereby an individual is liable to pay a late feen of up to Rs 1.000 if their PAN is not linked to Aadhaar.

“234H. Where a person is obliged to intimate his Aadhaar number in accordance with subparagraph (2) of Section 139AA and that person does not do this on, or before, that date which may be prescribed, he shall, after the initiation of the intimation pursuant to subparagrapt (2) of Article 139AA, be liable for such fee as may be prescribed, not exceeding one thousand rupees.

Although the government has not stated explicitly if it would charge penalties from those who do not link their PAN with Aadhar by March 31 and has not specified the exact amount of penalty for them, the bill was approved by the parliament, which means that it has the authority to enforce it in the government Gazette after notification.
