How To Create & Use Google Forms?

Step 1: Set up a new form or quiz

  1. Go to forms.google.com.
  2. Click Blank Plus .
  3. A new form will open.

Create a form from Google Drive

When you create a Google Form, it’s saved in Google Drive. To create a form directly from Google Drive:

  1. On a computer, go to drive.google.com.
  2. In the top left, click New and then Google Forms.

Types of Questions in a Google Form

Google Forms can be used to create 11 types of questions. The following are the type of questions present in a Google Form.

  1. Short Answer: Short answer questions can take answers with a length of up to 500 characters.
  2. Paragraph: Paragraph questions are suited for answers longer than 500 characters. They do not have a limit.
  3. Multiple choice: These features can be used to add multiple-choice questions.
  4. Checkboxes: When a question has multiple answers, or multiple responses are needed, checkboxes can be used.
  5. Dropdown: A dropdown menu lets you select an option from a flurry of options.
  6. File Upload: These are helpful when Forms are being used for job applications. An applicant can upload their photos and resume.
  7. Linear scale: Allows respondents to select a set number from a scale. Most used for feedback and rating related surveys.
  8. Multiple Choice Grid: As the name suggests, it is a multiple-choice question with more than one row of answers. A user can select only one answer per row.
  9. Checkbox Grid: A checkbox version of the multiple-choice grid.
  10. Date: Lets the respondent add a date. For example the Date of Birth.
  11. Time: Lets the respondent add a time.
