Krafton, South Korea’s PUBG Corp. owns a deal with Microsoft which will allow the PUBG to host the game on the Azure cloud platform of Microsoft.

“The company will cooperate with Microsoft in ensuring personal data protection through Azure, as privacy and data security are a high priority for Krafton,” the company said in a press release.

“Collaboration ensures that privacy rights are observed and relevant software complies fully with all laws and regulations applicable.”

Azure is the cloud computing service of Microsoft, which enables game creators to build and run their games globally.

Krafton will also work with the American technology giant to establish an audit process to ensure that all appropriate requirements are followed in all territories to store personally identifiable information for its players.

While reports suggest that PUBG Mobile plans to return with such cloud agreements to India, others indicate that data security and Chinese ownership are only part of the prohibition.

A TechCrunch report notes that certain streamers were privately advised that PUBG Corp. anticipates a return to the country by the end of the year. Some streamers expect an official announcement of Diwali’s return as soon as possible.

Krafton also worked to rebrand that game in order to overcome the prohibition of the government. Previously, the game developer said that before the ban he located his Indian servers.
