    Gaming Masters: How to register for Jio and Mediatek eSports tournament?

    New Delhi, Tech Desk. Indian telecom company Reliance Jio is going to launch Gaming Master, an online gaming tournament. Jio will launch this gaming tournament in partnership with chipset making company MediaTek. This will be the first online gaming tournament of Jio to recognize the gaming champion of India. This will be a 70-day online gaming tournament, for which prize money of Rs 12.50 lakh has been announced. The grand finale winner of the game will be given a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh.

    Tournament registration went live  

    This online gaming tournament will feature Garena’s battle royal Game Free Fire. To play this online game you have to register yourself. Tournament registration has been made live on the Jio game platform, where users will be able to register by 10 January. 

    The tournament will begin on 12 January. The Grand Finale will be held on 1 March. Free Fire Gaming Master is a three-stage tournament and 24 teams will participate in the grand finale of the game.

    • The first stage will be Duo, with 32 qualifiers taking part daily. Out of this, about 20 Duo teams will qualify for the Grand Finale. 
    • The second stage will be solo. It will have 12 qualifiers daily. After the playoffs, the top-8 players and four teams will qualify for the grand finale. 
    • The final stage will be the Grand Finale. 24 teams will participate in it. 

    How to register for the tournament?

    • Players can register for the Free Fire Gaming Master Tournament on the JioGames platform
    • To register for the tournament one has to register on the JioGames platform. 
    • After this, account sign-in will have to be done. 
    • After this, you have to go to the registration page, from where you have to click on join. 
    • After this, the necessary details have to be recorded and will be registered for the tournament. 

    Overview of the Tournament

     “FreeFire Gaming Masters” is a three stage tournament.

     Stage 1 – DUOS

    ○ Round 1 – Qualifier Stage x 32 Days 

    ○ Round 2 – Qualifier Finale x 32 Days

    ○ Round 1 and Round 2 will run for 32 days and each day will run as a daily qualifier and qualifier finale.

    ○ 3 teams from Round 2 will qualify for playoffs from each day.

    ○ Round 3 – Playoffs (20 Teams from Playoffs will qualify to Finale)

     Stage 2 – SOLOS

    ○ Round 1 – Qualifier Stage x 12 Days

    ○ Round 2 – Qualifier Finale x 12 Days

    ○ Round 1 and Round 2 will run for 12 days and each day will run as a daily qualifier and qualifier finale.

    ○ 8 players from Round 2 will qualify for playoffs from each day.

    ○ Round 3 – Playoffs (8 Solo Players will qualify to Finale)

    ○ After Solo Playoffs, top 8 players will qualify and form into teams accordingly.

    ■ Team 1 – Rank 1 x Rank 8

    ■ Team 2 – Rank 2 x Rank 7

    ■ Team 3 – Rank 3 x Rank 6

    ■ Team 4 – Rank 4 x Rank 5

     Stage 3 – Grand Finale

    ○ 20 teams from DUOS playoffs and 4 teams from SOLOS playoffs.

    ○ Set of 7 Maps.

    Registration starts from 29th December 2020, 09:30 IST until 10th January 2021, 00:00 IST through JioGames Portal.

    Match Days (DUOS):

    ○ Qualifier Stage – 13th January to 25th February 2021 – 11:00 IST to 14:00 IST

    ○ Qualifier Finale – 13th January to 25th February 2021 – 15:00 IST onwards

    ○ Playoffs – 28th February to 1st March 2021 – 13:00 IST onwards

    ○ Grand Finale – 2nd March 2021 – 13:00 IST onwards

    ■ Round 1 – Qualifier Stage – Set of 1 Map

    ■ Round 2 – Qualifier Finale – Set of 3 Maps

    ■ Round 3 – Playoffs – Set of 5 Maps

    Match Days (SOLOS):

    ○ Qualifier Stage – 20th January to 4th February 2021 – 11:00 IST to 14:00 IST

    ○ Qualifier Finale – 20th January to 4th February 2021 – 15:00 IST onwards

    ○ Playoffs – 10th February to 13th March 2021 – 13:00 IST onwards

    ○ Grand Finale – 2nd March 2021 – 13:00 IST onwards

    3) Scoring System

    Scoring for each Tournament Game will be based on each Team’s finale kill count and in-game placement as set forth below.

    The scoring system at this point may be updated from time to time by Tournament Officials at their sole discretion. Team Players should check this Section from time to time for the latest updates.

    4) Tie Breaker

    If there are two or more Teams tied on points at the end of a set, the tiebreaker will be decided on the given factors in the following order

    ○ Placement points.

    ○ Kill points.

    ○ Placement of Team in the last map.

    5) Online Tournament Game Rules

    ○ Game Versions for all the participants have to be updated to the latest version of the game.

    ○ Players will use their own online accounts and Gamer Tags/IDs for Online Events.

    ○ All Tournament Matches will be played in lobbies hosted by the Tournament Official. 

    ○ Prior to a Tournament start time, Team Leaders will be notified of the official tournament Lobby ID and Password that will be hosted by Tournament Officials.

    ○ Captains/Leaders will have to be ready with their team in-game during their scheduled time. (DUOS – Lobby can be joined as Team of 2 and not as Individual / SOLOS – Lobby can be joined as Individual)

    ○ It is expected that all Tournament Matches will begin at the scheduled time. Any delay caused by issues arising out of a Team Player’s inadequate preparation will be assessed by Tournament Officials. Disciplinary action for tardiness may be assessed at the discretion of the Tournament Officials.

    6) In-Game Settings

    ○ The Tournament Officials reserves the right to make changes to the required match or player settings at any time in their sole discretion prior to the start of any Tournament Match.

    ○ Players can use supporting items in the game such as load outs, characters, slot character skills and other skins.

    ○ Gun properties will be disabled throughout all matches in the FreeFire Gaming Masters.

    ○ Use of emulators, triggers etc. is prohibited during the tournament.

         DUOS:

         Game Mode – TPP – Duo Battle Royale

         Team Size – 2 Players

         Gun Properties – Off

         Roster Size – 2 Players

         Lobby Size – 24 Teams

         SOLOS:

         Game Mode – TPP – Solo Battle Royale

         Team Size – 1 Player

         Gun Properties – Off

         Roster Size – 1 Player

         Lobby Size – 48 Players

    7) Device Settings

    Players devices should be suitable to the game; players will be responsible for any lag or FPS drop during the match.

    8) No Rematch/Pauses (Stoppage of Play)

    ○ There will be no rematch and no pauses will be permitted during the Tournament play for any reason.

    ○ Device Malfunction, Lag issue, Internet Problem, etc. players will be responsible for it and there will be stoppage of play.

    ○ If any player in a team gets disconnected or drops out of the game for any reason, that player shall try to rejoin the game, if the player is still unable to join the game even after rejoining, that player will be responsible for it and there will be no rematch and the team will have to play the match without that player.

    After the end of the tournament, all payments will be done to the winning team/player within 60 days after the team leader submits all the required information asked by the officials.
